The ceramic sinks look great at first, but after only 8 years it looked horrible. Replacing the old sink with this stainless model has improved the look of our entire kitchen far more than I thought it would. As far as the installation goes, I found some videos online and just followed those instructions. It took about 3 hours to replace the sink along with adding a new faucet and garbage disposer. Since I had everything torn apart, I went ahead and replaced all of the drain pipes as well. The only thing I needed for the install was a new stainless steel strainer for the non-disposer side of the sink as well as some plumber's putty, teflon tape and caulk. I did need help dropping the new sink into place without getting caulk all over myself; but my 13-year-old daughter was more than capable of that. It's very reasonably priced and looks very nice. It is made from a medium thickness stainless steel compared to other sinks, but it has been fine for our use with a family of five. We do not have a disposal hooked up to it. It has been installed for about 3 months now and there is nothing I can think of that would keep me from buying another if I had to. |
